The Great Entertainer: The Heyday of Cinema City
The exhibition features interviews with key persons of Cinema City as well as precious artifacts and photos, giving the audience a chance to revisit this leading company in the history of Hong Kong cinema. City was founded in the early 1980s by Karl Maka, Dean Shek and Raymond Wong, who were later joined by Eric Tsang, Tsui Hark, Nansun Shi and Teddy Robin. The company was widely known as a new force of the Hong Kong film industry and their blockbusters like Aces Go Places, A Better Tomorrow, Prison On Fire and The Happy Ghost etc. gave rise to a golden era of the Hong Kong entertainment business.
This is the first time of Stonewood Studio working with Hong Kong Film Archive. We are the exhibition designer and fabricator for this projects. Our work scopes include panels graphic design, mock-up room of the Cinema City office design, Neon-lighting design, motion backdrop fabrication, interactive media programming and display cases production.
